- learned to crochet
- played ultimate frisbee
- attended a yoga class
- started a blog
- flew standby (hey, we didn't say these had to all be monumental things)
- owned and operated a sewing machine (just squeaked that one into '09)
- learned to embroider (still learning, yes, but the key was to start)
- made meatballs
- baked a cake from scratch
Triumph!!
My goals for 2010 are more guidelines than goals:
- become more flexible (stretching, yoga)
- specific flexibility goal: wrap my hands around my feet when stretching hamstrings OR hands flat on the floor when reaching for toes while standing
- finish what I start
- start a project, FINISH that project
- the trick is to not have too many things on the go, nor should I try something too hard for my crafting skill level before I'm ready (lest I get discouraged and stop)
- small, incremental goals are Kate's key to success
- give up pop? (aka soda, aka soft drinks) - I did this in 2006, considering doing it again
- add more birds to my "life list"
- which means keeping my eyes peeled, not forgetting the binoculars on fishing trips, bringing my bird book with me too, and perhaps making a visit here or here during spring or fall migration...
- do more, laugh more, see more - relax and enjoy life and not get so caught up in the negative. Here's to as stress-free a 2010 as I can make it.
I'd like to try some of these recipes - I received this book in the mail from my former Spanish roommate Sandra. I have been trying SO hard to think of something to send to her. Maybe I can make something for her too... New goal!
I'd like to try a whole bunch of new recipes from lots of my cookbooks. I haven't given Rachel Ray a try. Shame on me. They're all so quick! That's it: I vow to be more adventurous in the kitchen!
Trying new things is always a good goal to have, so I'll do my best not to turn down opportunities that may translate into a new and enriching experience. The "year of new things" may be over, but I've experienced much and have made several new friends, so I think that's an important goal to carry with me, no matter what the year.
There. I've started 2010 off with hope and excitement of triumphs to come.
Here's to a happy year.

Good for you! Lots of accomplishments, I'd say.
Blessings,

That is quite a list of accomplishments, well done! I am also working on more yoga practice in 2010 and I have been tempted by that Spanish cook book
I tried giving up pop. I lasted two weeks. What do you drink with Pizza, or a cheeseburger...? Pepsi just goes soooo good with those. I'll never forget your willpower in 2006. I was so impressed.
