Sweaters for Apples

So now that Mother Nature has stopped with her snowing and blowing and closing of highways and schools, she has settled in with a nice, bone-chilling deep freeze.

Today I borrowed some gorgeous and inspiring books from the library and was prepared to spend an evening reading them (aerobics class having been cancelled for the night), but instead, perhaps inspired by the frigid weather we've been having, I made this:

 An apple cozy!

This is the smallest, cutest thing I've made to date. Maybe it will inspire me to bring along more fruit in my lunches. Too bad my navel oranges don't fit in here, though they can have their own cozies too - probably not though, lest my co-workers think I'm entirely crazy. No, no I'll just cozy my apples for now. And my camera. And I've been eying up my iPod. And Trev DID say he needed something to keep his new, smaller camera from smashing around inside his slightly-too-large Pelican case...

Must go. Making mental list.

so cute, a good idea rather than arriving at work with mushy peaches (like I did today!)

Anna - I'm not sure if you're on Ravelry.com (and if you're not, you should be, though this may be terrible advice on my part, as it will definitely impact your productivity), but the pattern's up there and it's free! Who says it can only be for apples!

Amber - It's more about entertainment value than practicality. I'm afraid this doesn't even scratch the surface of the silly things people will make.
